Honest Juxtaposition

There is softness in these details, these contours

Palettes of terry pinks, ribbed charcoals, smooth slates

collaborate well with the pale billows and shapes.

There is comfort in these relationships, however self-serving

Alone is enough for now, for this moment—more than a handful

in the play of shadows and simplicities and textures.

There is naturalness in these forms, no artifice

Absorption over presentation, spilling over constraints

without exhibition, without rejection, without doubt via comparisons.

There is light in these ideals, these images

Blue and green tints wash over the reds and yellows

Charcoals and slates over all that pink—vibrant or pastel

Warmth comes from details, from contours.
