We Brought This On Ourselves

Isolation
is a reward
for all of
stupidity
conformity
ignorance
animosity
spreading through
air during allergy
season. Even
self-medication
can’t prevent
this type of
congestion
the slow acidic
leak from every
entry point
that erodes
who we are.

Safer to look
in the mirror
and absorb
our own
grotesqueries.
We can
at least
accept and
revel
in those.
